The regulations for Class 3 state a maximum power of 175Hp - not impossibly far away from where I am now, but if the car's going to have any chance of being competitive I'll need to have a think about the best way to get the most out of this little motor. Maybe just ditch it for a straight six!
I also got the car corner-weighted before I start pulling it all apart. The car was weighed in it's road trim- tool kit, spare wheel etc, minimal fuel, with and without driver:
It was also interesting to see that in both cases the car has an almost perfect 50/50 front / rear weight ratio and a biased 51% FL / RR cross weight. This is the correct bias for a rear wheeled drive car on right-hand circuits, as it will rock the "correct" way. I'll go into this in more detail later down the line though when we set the car up properly.
